PROGRAMS THAT EMPOWER YOUNG ADULTS

Our Neighborhood Academy provides membership-based programs that prepare young adults with special needs for a more purposeful life after high school. These structured training programs offer participants a place where they can learn and practice skills that will help them contribute to their community.

  • Social Program

    Building friendships and communication skills through game nights, movie nights, and community outings

  • JOB TRAINING

    Developing retail skills and work experience in our Children's Boutique with supportive staff mentors

  • MICROENTERPRISES

    Creating and selling custom products including shirts, dog treats, fire starters, and handmade crafts

  • CURRICULUM PROGRAM

    Continued learning with the Stanfield Transitions Curriculum focusing on personal, career, and life management

What to Expect at our Programs

  • Our programs are designed for young adults ages 18+ with intellectual or developmental disabilities who have graduated from high school or an adult transition program. We welcome individuals of all ability levels who can benefit from structured learning environments and social engagement opportunities. Our team works with each participant to determine which program best suits their goals and needs.

  • Our programs are designed to fit different needs and schedules:

    • Social Program: Activities typically occur 1-2 times per month

    • Job Training: Available during our business hours (Monday-Saturday), with flexible scheduling to accommodate individual needs.

    • Curriculum Program: Classes meet weekly, with morning and afternoon options available.

  • Appropriate support is provided for all participants, including individualized goal-setting, structured environments, and accommodations for different learning styles and abilities.

  • During an initial consultation based on your interests and goals. Many participants join multiple programs, often starting with Social activities.

  • Each event is $25 to attend. We offer a membership option of $200 that covers all events. Scholarships are available for eligible participants.

  • Costs vary by program. Social Program has per-event fees, while Job Training and Curriculum Programs offer monthly membership options. We can discuss payment and funding during your visit.
